silence of the stars !
with the defeat of the dark forest behind the four clans of the lake, all cats were ready to focus on recovering from their losses and moving on. past tensions resolved themselves as they all worked to move beyond their grief. after moons upon moons of endless turmoil - the long trek from the forest to the lake, establishing themselves in their new territories, to the war with the dark forest that the clans had miraculously won - they all could agree on establishing peace. and, for a while, the four clans lived in harmony.
until on a half-moon, when a young medicine cat apprentice travelled to the moonpool to receive her full name, and realized she could not make contact. or, she could, but starclan looked nothing like it had before. the starry plains were washed with blood and devoid of life. their warrior ancestors were nowhere to be found. even the forest sounds, which had filled starclan with the sound of prey and branches rattling together in the wind, were impossibly silent.
the clans met together the following full moon for a grim gathering. they couldn't piece together what had happened to starclan's realm.
dark storm clouds passed over the moon as the four clans pondered over their new troubles, and from the shadows stepped a grisly warrior with a menacing gleam in her eyes. the clans had failed to defeat the dark forest, she proclaimed to the horrified witnesses that sat before her. the dark forest warriors the clans had fought had only been the first wave. after their defeat, the dark cats had laid in wait for the perfect time to strike again against starclan and the clans. they had waited until tension ceased, and a feeling of peace and prosperity had begun to settle. and then the entirety of the dark forest had struck starclan. it had been a gruesome battle. the dark forest was massive, but so was starclan, and it was many days before the battle turned in favour of the dark forest. they did not stop until every starclan cat they found was slaughtered.
with a gleeful laugh the dark forest warrior stepped back into the shadows and disappeared as the island erupted into chaos. without starclan, no leader could obtain their nine lives. there would be no more prophecies to warn of dangers to come. the clans were alone, left to wander blindly in the dark.
sixty four moons have passed since the dark forest swept through starclan and slaughtered the clans' warrior ancestors. times have grown peaceful once again in lieu of such tragic happenings, but with starclan gone and the dark forest looming over them once more, how long will it be before they were all killed as starclan had been? would the silence of the stars last forever, or would new hope dawn on the four clans of the lake as it always had in the past?
------
silence of the stars is a semi-realistic warriors roleplay set in the lake territories post-omen of the stars. the dark forest has returned and has killed every last starclan cat. with starclan gone, leaders of the four clans can no longer receive nine lives. there are no more prophecies; no more omens to protect the clans. the roleplay loosely follows our plot, but is driven mainly by member and the monthly staff-hosted plots.
